This week we celebrated homemade movies veteran Ridley Scott and Ken Loach, but the highlight was our first observation, and an exciting new British director.

Like Scott, Rupert Sanders of the world of advertising. His visual flair more than compensate for a weak spot in his storytelling and sophisticated twist on Snow White come closer to the spirit of the legendary Brothers Grimm as a Hollywood movie. Not Disneyfied is not.

Sanders and his influences are clear, and I recommend it as well as talent to taste. There is a strong echo of Guillermo del Toro Pan's Labyrinth, Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy, Hayao Miyazaki and Princess Mononoke in the dream as cartoon. And it was very extreme, Terry Gilliam's fantasy Jabberwocky.

If you like or all of this, you need it as much as I do.

Special effects are fantastic and range from excellent beautiful nightmare: the queen of evil crows current explode or leave the material liquescent threatening as the villain in Terminator 2, far-from-cute mini fairies dart like demons through the Enchanted Forest, hitching lifts are rabbits, Magpies, and even covered with moss turtle.
